I received an email from a friend, which has led to the creation of this site. What did she say?
"...... this would hopefully begin to put to an end some of the ridiculous separation of support through political egos that goes on so much in the PD community here in the States. It is to the point that you cannot even mention another site while in a chat room, post news about another site, yada yada, yada.
This hurts the people who need the support the most! It is my opinion that we are all different and need different types of support, and as every day is different and moods change, people should feel free to move around between sites and talk about the goings on in other sites. Administrators of other sites should feel free to boast about their sites, instead of trying to promote hush hush. The whole thing is absurd!"
This is why Parkinson's International was created. We intend to bring together in one place a comprehensive list of as many PD-related sites as possible, so that YOU can choose which one is best for you.
If you are a member of a particular site, it would help enormously if you would contact us with details of the site. Maybe it has a forum, a blog or a chat room. Maybe it offers support through informative articles, or you can speak to someone with regard to a question you need answering. Tell us as much as you can about a site you use/know of, and maybe YOU will help someone else with PD to find help and support in their part of the world, and that can only serve a good purpose.
Thank you, and Best Wishes
John Pemberton
